This section contains several reports produced by Enviro-Health Consulting, a company owned by CASLE’s Robinson, but with close ties to CASLE.
Several years into CASLE’s work alongside the NS Department of Education, a top Department official expressed that the Department is concerned that she as CASLE representative was providing more free professional information than they could justify continuing in good conscience. By that time, other CASLE board members had retired to serve only on the managing Board. Robinson was working alone as CASLE’s CEO and representative and had been central to multiple solutions to significant school environmental health and safety issues. The Department requested that Robinson create a business and apply for preferred access so it would be easy to hire her/her company. They were unaware that Robinson already had a company that provided services to other departments, boards, agencies, and citizens, so the shift was facilitated. When CASLE closed in 2017-18, the CASLE Board was made aware that an anonymous donor for many years was Robinson. Her Enviro-Health Consulting income had been donated to keep CASLE operating.
