CASLE and its board were involved with several research projects and publications, serving as expert resource for several and also as the focus of a few. Degaust/Robinson/Moser served on the Project Team of two major studies and a pilot study, all focused on the IAQ Tools for Schools Action Kit and funded by Health Canada. CASLE’s President and CEO, K Robinson co-authored a paper with N. Bradshaw of Toronto’s Women’s College Hospital’s Environmental Health Clinic. Several of these papers are posted in this archive.

Healthy Schools-Healthy Children: Improving the indoor Environment in Ontario Schools – by Pollution Probe, Ontario, 2000
Nova Scotia led the way toward Healthy Schools. CASLE urges other jurisdictions to read this paper carefully. This paper recommends other jurisdictions use Nova Scotia as a model (p.49), lists CASLE as a particularly influential and well-informed non-profit organization that “had the ability to speak technically” (p. 33), and “The US EPA and the province of Nova Scotia have shown significant leadership in this regard (action on Healthy School creation and operation).” (p. 52) Action items 4, 6, 7, 8 & 9 were led by CASLE reps for the Department.
