Active & Safe Routes to School of the Ecology Action Centre is helping to promote Healthy Schools Day by:

-Featuring the event in its Winter 2011 newsletter sent to over 300 partners and schools
-Featuring the event on its website www.saferoutesns.ca
-Encouraging 12 schools involved in School Travel Planning to take part in the event

Active & Safe Routes to School in Nova Scotia encourages more children, youth and their families to use active transportation – such as walking and cycling – for the environment, phyiscal activity and traffic safety. Active transportation helps create healthy school communities. Active & Safe Routes to School support Healthy Schools Day in Canada.
